HOW DOES AID GET INTO GAZA?
Our partner, Pious Projects, purchases all of the food, water, and medical supplies from within Gaza. Most families are unable to afford anything at this time.
BUT AREN'T THEY RUNNING OUT OF SUPPLIES?
Supplies are running urgently low, which is why time is of the essence and we need to make sure the Rafah crossing is opened as a matter of urgency.
IF BANKS ARE CLOSED, HOW ARE YOU PAYING SUPPLIERS?
Pious Projects is making direct payments on the ground. They have well-established and trusted relationships with suppliers in Gaza that allow purchases to be made on credit for any large transactions they can immediately cover. Payments will be settled once the banks reopen. This is common practice during emergency relief efforts
HOW WILL THE DONATIONS BE SPENT AFTER SUPPLIES HAVE RUN OUT?
We are hopeful the Rafah crossing will FULLY OPEN soon. Currently, Pious Projects has trucks in Egypt waiting to enter Gaza as soon as the border opens, and they intend to purchase more. Until then, they will continue to buy supplies on the ground.
